2004 – John Peel (aka John Robert Parker Ravenscroft) died of a heart attack in Cuzco, Peru. He was BBC's longest-serving radio DJ and the first DJ to introduce The Ramones, Roxy Music, The Smiths, The Fall, Rod Stewart, Blur, Sex Pistols,T. Rex and others. He founded Dandelion Records which released recordings by kevin Coyne, Bridget St John and Medicine Head. Also known for his "Peel Sessions". He was awarded OBE in 1998

2014 – John Syman Asher "Jack" Bruce – musician, singer / songwriter, bassist for Cream, Blues Incorporated, Graham Bond Quartet (later Graham Bond Organisation), John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers, Manfred Mann, died of liver disease
